Christmas Eve 2009

Here's the penultimate post in this year's Christmas album festival, and it's a pretty good one. Frorm 1971, it's Columbia Record's The Christmas Album (subtitle: 20 Great Christmas Favorites Performed by 20 Great Artists) (a two-disc set, no less). Highlights include Johnny Cash (with a slightly odd rendering of The Little Drummer Boy), Burl Ives, Patti Page, Marty Robbins, and Mahalia Jackson, as well as the usual suspects (Andy Williams, Percy Faith, Johnny Mathis, etc.).
Even though it's two discs, the run time is not quite an hour, with five tracks per side.
