Under The Covers 17

I've been collecting covers as I run across them in the last couple of years until I felt that I had enough for another Under The Covers post. Turned out that I probably had too many - this runs about 90 minutes.

I'll post the track listing later, but until then let's have a contest. Submit your guesses (artist/title) in the comments to win a prize. I'll keep the comments in moderation until Wednesday so no one will get hints from anyone else.

The Old College Triad

Enjoyable private-issue 10" LP (from 1960) of a collegiate close harmony ensemble.

I imagine this was the sort of thing that Brian Wilson had been listening to as he formulated the Beach Boys sound in his head (he was notably a fan of the Four Freshmen).

The Deansmen for this recording were:  BRUCE MANNING, ALLYN BOSWORTH, DON MAWHINNEY, JACK MCPARTLAND, JIM CURTIS, ROBIN DAVIDSON, STEVE GILBERT, and DICK PARKER.

Not sure why they went with the purple-tinted cover photo.

The Deansmen still exist at Bates College: http://www.batesdeansmen.com

Warning: may lead to card-playin'

Hubba hubba! This 1973 LP will bring all the boys to the yard! Comes with two pages of illustrated directions, as well.
This is now also available on CD from your usual outlets (but, as usual, I prefer the vinyl).
