Skipping a decade of National Geographic, here's Roger Payne, PhD., in 1979 playing and explaining the "Sounds of the Humpback Whale". I think that enjoyed this one because it sounded a lot like the synthesizers of the day.

It's Flexidisk Fall! Here's a disc close to my heart - Astronaut Frank Borman narrates the "Sounds of the Space Age" on this disc that was included in National Geographic in 1969, the height of the space race. You can see for yourself my skill with scissors at age 7.
