Tubes, Tape, and Punched Paper

This 1965 disc reflects the use of the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center: primarily its resources for "classical" electronic music, i.e., the use of tape manipulation of sound sources. Of course, one of the available sound sources is the RCA Sound Synthesizer, so there is somewhat of a cross-breeding with purely electronic techniques.

I could listen to this all day (but it's unfortunately only about 30 minutes). When I was in high school I wanted to do this sort of thing as a career (make this kind of music, I mean, not blogging). I used to swap tapes of random noises and composed sounds with a friend. I wish that we had kept them.
